Native Angeleno Mikey Koffman is a tour de force in the burgeoning Los Angeles fashion industry, with years in the foreground developing her diverse body of experience. Though Koffman is now a mainstay in the fashion world, she got her start as the first female motorcycle shop owner in Long Beach. Koffman then parlayed her entrepreneurial drive into her next venture - launching her own clothing line, which became an immediate success, and was internationally distributed in its first year of production.
It was through this project that Koffman developed a niche for herself in the industry. On the heels of the success of her clothing line, Koffman went on to assume the position of Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Da Nang Clothing and Stitch’s Jeans. Koffman then launched 575 Denim, a brand that saw exponential growth with this seasoned consultant at the helm. Koffman also produced countless runway shows, ad campaigns, and photo shoots, further reinforcing her position as a leader in the industry.
In 2005 Koffman founded The Gallery Los Angeles, a full service marketing and event production company. After producing fashion shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Paris, Koffman assisted in the establishment of the official Los Angeles Fashion Week, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios. Following Mercedes Benz Fashion Week’s final season, Koffman launched Los Angeles Fashion Weekend and moved the location to Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood.
Koffman also produces runway shows in conjunction with the Magic International tradeshow. These shows put fashion brands onto the map with key buyers and media, and have successfully launched a number of emerging lines.
Koffman was also featured on the first season of the hit Showtime series, “The Real L Word,” and KTLA morning news segment “Thank God It’s Fashion”. Koffman’s unmatched experience growing emerging lines into full fledged brands has garnered her place among the fashion elite.
